LODGE ARRANGEMENT AT MULU NATIONAL PARK
- For Mulu National Park stay:

- 1-2 pax: Guests will be arranged into one rainforest lodge unit with one queen or twin bed.

4D3N Miri Mulu Unesco Tour With National Park Stay
Overview
Discover the highlights of Sarawak on this 4D3N tour combining Miri city and Mulu National Park. Start in Miri, where you will visit Canada Hill for panoramic views of the city, the historic Grand Old Lady, Malaysia’s first oil well, and the Petroleum Museum. Continue to the city centre for a photo stop at Tua Pek Kong Temple, one of Miri’s oldest landmarks and a building that survived World War II.
The journey continues to Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its remarkable limestone caves. Explore Deer Cave and Lang Cave, famous for their massive cave passages and impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. Visit the Batu Bungan Penan Settlement to learn about the Penan community before continuing to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave, where you can see an underground river inside one of the longest caves in Southeast Asia.

DAY 1 - Arrival in Miri / Miri City Tour

Upon arrival at Miri Airport meet your guide and begin a short city tour of this coastal town in northern Sarawak.

Visit Canada Hill, located about 40 metres above sea level, for panoramic views of Miri city and the South China Sea.

Next, you will visit Grand Old Lady, Malaysia’s first oil well drilled in 1910, together with the Petroleum Museum, which showcases the history of the country’s oil and gas industry.

Continue to the city centre for a stop at Tua Pek Kong Temple, one of Miri’s oldest landmarks and among the few buildings that survived World War II.

Stop by local shops and markets where you can browse for Sarawak souvenirs, including kek lapis Sarawak, herbal products and handicrafts at the local tamu market.

After the tour, transfer to your hotel for check-in and enjoy the evening at leisure.

DAY 2 - Flight from Miri to Mulu / Deer Cave & Lang Cave / Bat Exodus

After breakfast, transfer to Miri Airport for a short 30-minute flight to Mulu. Upon arrival at Mulu Airport, meet your guide and proceed to Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its limestone caves and rainforest ecosystem.

After check-in, attend a short briefing at the Mulu Exhibition Centre before beginning a guided walk along raised plankwalks through the rainforest. The trail leads to Lang Cave, known for its limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites.

Continue to Deer Cave, one of the largest cave passages in the world and home to millions of bats. In the evening, gather at the Bat Observatory to watch the spectacular bat exodus, where large colonies of bats emerge from the cave at dusk.

Return to Park Headquarters and spend the evening at leisure.

DAY 3 - Batu Bungan Penan Settlement / Wind Cave / Clearwater Cave

After an early breakfast, head to the jetty for a longboat ride along the Melinau River to Batu Bungan Penan Settlement to learn about the Penan community.

Browse the handicraft centre where locally made products such as woven baskets and traditional crafts are available.

Continue to Wind Cave, known for its cool airflow and unique limestone formations. Then visit nearby Clearwater Cave, famous for its large cave chambers and clear underground river. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Clearwater Rest Hut surrounded by the rainforest.

After lunch, return to Mulu National Park Headquarters by longboat. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure exploring nearby trails or relaxing in the surrounding rainforest environment.

- For arrivals after 13:00 Hrs, lunch will be changed to packed lunch.
- Guests should be prepared to begin the tour immediately upon arrival, with hotel check-in taking place after the tour.
- Please pack a separate day bag for easy access upon arrival and plan for your own lunch before departing for Mulu.
- We recommend that at the end of this tour, you fly from Mulu to Miri/Kuching with an additional night stay in either city to maximise your holiday. This is due to the unfavourable flight timings from Mulu back to Kota Kinabalu.
- Kindly note that all guests are advised to pack extra clothing in their carry-on baggage should there be any unforeseen circumstances upon arrival in Mulu.
