3D2N Mulu Show Caves & Park HQ Stay
Overview
Immerse yourself in the spectacular landscapes of Gunung Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sarawak renowned for its vast limestone cave systems and pristine rainforest. Stay at Mulu Park Headquarters and explore some of the park’s most remarkable natural attractions, including the impressive Lang Cave and the immense Deer Cave, one of the largest cave passages in the world. As evening falls, witness the extraordinary bat exodus, where millions of bats stream out of Deer Cave in a dramatic display against the rainforest skyline.
Continue your adventure with a scenic longboat journey along the Melinau River to visit Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave, one of the longest cave systems in Southeast Asia. Along the way, stop at Batu Bungan Penan settlement to learn about the traditions of the local indigenous community. End the day at Clearwater Spring, where crystal clear waters and lush rainforest surroundings offer a refreshing place to relax. This experience brings together cave exploration, cultural encounters and the natural beauty of Mulu’s ancient rainforest.
Sample Itinerary
DAY 1 - Arrival at Mulu / Lang Cave / Deer Cave / Bat Exodus

Arrive at Mulu Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for check-in.

After lunch, assemble at 1400 hrs for a safety briefing with your local guide.

Walk along a raised rainforest plank trail to visit Lang Cave, known for its striking limestone formations.

Continue to the impressive Deer Cave, one of the largest cave passages in the world and home to millions of bats and swiftlets.

In the evening, gather at the Bat Observatory to witness the spectacular bat exodus, where millions of bats spiral out of the cave at sunset.

Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 2 - Batu Bungan Penan Settlement / Wind Cave / Clearwater Cave

After breakfast, travel by longboat along the Melinau River to visit Batu Bungan, a Penan settlement where you can browse local handicrafts and experience the traditions of the indigenous community.

Continue to Wind Cave, followed by Clearwater Cave, one of the longest cave systems in the world.

After exploring the cave, relax at Clearwater Spring, where crystal clear waters provide a refreshing spot to cool off. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to your accommodation.

The afternoon is free for leisure or exploring the park’s walking trails before dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 3 - Departure from Mulu

Enjoy breakfast before spending some free time at leisure. Check out by 1200 hrs or two hours before your flight departure.

Transfer to Mulu Airport for your onward flight to Miri, Kuching, or Kota Kinabalu.

- Please take note: All clients who enter Mulu Park must bring along 1) their Passport / ID Cards and 2) a photocopy of their Passport/ID Cards to present it to the park management office upon check-in & registration.
- Please ensure you are holding air ticket to Mulu.
- Notes for late arrival on Day 1:
- For arrivals after 13:00 Hrs, lunch will be changed to packed lunch.
- Guests should be prepared to begin the tour immediately upon arrival, with hotel check-in taking place after the tour.
- Please pack a separate day bag for easy access upon arrival and plan for your own lunch before departing for Mulu.
- We recommend that at the end of this tour, you fly from Mulu to Miri/Kuching with an additional night stay in either city to maximise your holiday. This is due to the unfavourable flight timings from Mulu back to Kota Kinabalu.
- Kindly note that all guests are advised to pack extra clothing in their carry-on baggage should there be any unforeseen circumstances upon arrival in Mulu.
