Overview

Embark on a 17-day journey through Borneo, exploring the cultural and natural highlights of Sarawak and Sabah. Begin in Kuching, where you will discover key landmarks and local flavours, before heading to Bako National Park to encounter unique wildlife such as proboscis monkeys. Continue to Mulu to explore its world-renowned caves and witness the spectacular bat exodus, then unwind in Kota Kinabalu with a stay at Gaya Island Resort, complemented by marine activities and visits to Tamparuli Town and Nabalu Market.

The journey continues with meaningful wildlife experiences at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre, followed by river and rainforest adventures at Sukau Rainforest Lodge and Danum Valley. From canopy walks and jungle trekking to river tubing and guided wildlife encounters, this itinerary offers a well-balanced blend of nature, culture, and relaxation, making it an ideal Borneo experience.

DAY 1 - Arrival / Kuching City Tour

  • Arrive at Kuching International Airport and begin your journey with a guided Kuching City Tour, offering an introduction to the city’s rich heritage.
  • Visit key landmarks including the White Cat Statue, Old Court House, Post Office, Square Tower, and Tua Pek Kong Temple, each reflecting Kuching’s cultural and historical significance.
  • In the evening, enjoy a traditional Tambang boat ride across the Sarawak River, followed by dinner at a riverside restaurant. Transfer to your hotel for check-in and rest.

DAY 2 - Bako National Park

  • After breakfast, transfer to Bako Jetty for a short briefing before taking a boat ride to Bako National Park, Sarawak’s oldest national park.
  • Explore its diverse ecosystems, from mangrove swamps to coastal cliffs, while spotting wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, wild boars, and silvered leaf monkeys.
  • Enjoy lunch at the park before returning to Kuching in the afternoon. The evening is free at leisure.

DAY 3 - Lachau Bazaar / Batang Ai Lake / Nanga Sumpa

  • After lunch and a safety briefing, explore Mulu National Park via a 3km boardwalk leading to Lang’s Cave and Deer Cave, known for their impressive limestone formations.
  • In the evening, witness the spectacular bat exodus, where millions of bats emerge from the cave at dusk.
